This is a bug in ANTLR itself, not the IntelliJ plugin, and has to do with the left-recursion removal. If you change the left-recursive reference to expression with a reference to atomic_expression, you can see that errors are reported in the correct locations.
However, your image shows two other issues
- The highlighting for
IdentifierandIntegerin theatomic_expressionrule should highlight the entire word. - The underline for
IdentifierandIntegerin the lexer rules should underline the entire words.
