@ssauriera you could now use the released version fo this collection where the bug was fixed. I will close the issue as the bug itself is fixed.

Finally I found my problem.

My servers are from snapshot and in my file located in :

/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/ansible/plugins/inventory/hcloud.py

I comment de following lines:

This is already fixed in the master branch of the new collection (https://github.com/ansible-collections/hetzner.hcloud/blob/master/plugins/inventory/hcloud.py). You could try to use this instead of the ansible build in, as this was planned to be released with Ansible 2.10. As Ansible 2.10 will no longer contain the "non-core" modules we have the new place here. We plan to publish the first stable version of the collection in the next few weeks.

@ssauriera could you test if the file I linked above fixes your issue?

@LKaemmerling changing the file you propose makes the inventory faild again. I'm going to work with the old one.

just a little bit of feedback from a users perspective: this was biting me yesterday at a not so good time.

no complaints: can confirm that removing ansible, installing it at 2.10.x (ansible-base on ubuntu), then installing hcloud-python via pip on python3 (python3 -m pip install hcloud) and getting hetzner.hcloud from galaxy (ansible-galaxy collection install hetzner.hcloud) did the job for me, the error went away.

Also I've found out that hcloud CLI is a good and stable intermediate fall-back if all things go down (it might be good you have it in path already when trouble-shooting).

If I may suggest, if the hetzner account on ansible galaxy website would show the hetzner logo in the profile picture this would have given me a better impression (not your fault that with ansible galaxy it's not possible to re-install (remove + install) (at least on previous versions, there is a feature request for that)).
