probably some type of inheritance issue. Could you create a plunker?

Hey @joshkurz, I have the same problem accessing $scope.ShowsCalendar which is the calendar name in the calendar attribute return undefined.

Here's a plunker, Uncomment script.js:45 and check the console you will notice that fullCalendar is not defined.

Plunker was forked from an old one just to save time, it's may not be using an outdated version of ui-calendar.

@JonathanHindi this is because you are trying to call the fullCalendar before $scope.ShowsCalendar has actually been created. Remember, controllers are initialized before directives.

If you place you logic inside a function and programmatically call it, everything works as expected. http://plnkr.co/edit/4YMuLokMwjidEnnfvMap?p=preview
