Such a great the video! I was talking with co-workers about Style Dictionary and this video made it so much easier to show the power of the tool. 👍
I'm no sure if here is the right place for this, but I would like to ask a couple of questions about what you show on the video:
- Is this style guide page an evolution of static-style-guide Template or is it a different tool? Have you been able to integrate Style Dictionary with other tools like Storybook or PatternLab?
- Can you elaborate on the automated build process you are using during the screencast. What is your setup to watch for changes after
style-dictionary build
.

Thanks!
- The style guide page in the demo is more of a full web app that uses the style dictionary. It is a react app that uses the style dictionary as the content used in the react components if that makes sense. I'd like to publish the code once it is cleaned up a bit, but it's pretty messy right now. I have not integrated with Storybook or PatternLab, but as long as there is a structure to the files those use anyone could build a format/template to generate files that integrate with those things. That might be worth adding to the formats/templates included in the framework or at least as example code.
- For the automated part, all that is happening is it's watching for files changes and then rebuilding the style dictionary. Take a look at this gist, it is not the full code that is happening, but this is the main stuff taking place to rebuild the style dictionary when files change.

Oh. Thanks for the reply. 😄
I'll keep hacking around here and I'm sure I'll come back with other questions soon.
