fyi I'm just creating a version that includes a default font.

When creating the WordCloud object, you should give it a font_path to an existing font on your system.

from word_cloud.

I'm doing:

font_path = "/Library/Fonts/Times New Roman.ttf"
wordcloud = WordCloud(font_path=font_path, width = 1000, height = 500).generate('australian american english french russian')
plt.figure(figsize=(15,8))
plt.imshow(wordcloud)
plt.axis("off")
plt.show()

It's working fine

But maybe you should detect OS and use first a system font as default (not necessarily a font you add to word_cloud package)

import os
os.name

Returns 'posix'

But

import platform
platform.system()

Returns 'Darwin'

And

platform.release()

Returns '14.3.0'

from word_cloud.
