There's an issue here in that you have to set className to have a space before your actual class name. Other wise it clobbers over the class of the data items type. Ex: class="item range" because class="item rangeyourclassName"

I'm sorry I think I'm not using this right, my only reference until now was vis.js, and I still don't see classNames with that.
When I add Itemset.js as a reference, I don't see classNames either, I see this in Firebug:
ReferenceError: Panel is not defined
ItemSet.prototype = new Panel();
ItemSet.js (line 64)

Do I need something add/remove something?

You will need to checkout the development branch then use jake to compile all the js into a new/updated vis.js.

If you dont want to do that I have an updated one in my fork, https://github.com/Gillingham/vis/blob/develop/vis.js , however the changes from #1 are in there as well, that may or may not bother you.
