Torsten, you make a good point of checking missing fields/specifiers and let the user know. Will look into that. In your case, so far GoAccess requires certain fields in order to parse the log. One of them is a valid IP address (v4/v6) of the client.

Ok with a fake IP in that all works now, but... do i really dont get time based informations?

At this point goaccess (v.0.6.1) parses only the date, and not the time, so there is no need for adding time specifiers. For instance, [22/Nov/2013:06:26:00 -0500], with date_format %d/%b/%Y will do it. As far as log_format with the previous date_format, it will require something like: [%d:%^] where %d refers to date_format ignoring everything else (%^).
