- Algoritma clustering bersifat iteratif yang mecoba untuk mempartisi dataset menjadi subkelompok non-overlapping / berbeda yang ditentukan berdasarkan jumlah K (cluster) yang mana setiap data hanya dimiliki oleh satu kelompok - K-means membuat setiap data dalam satu kelompok (cluster) semirip mungkin dengan data yang lain dalam satu cluster. - K-means menmbuat jumlah jarak kuadrat antara setiap data dan centroid sangat kecil (minimal) - Semakin sedikit variasi dalam cluster, maka semakin homogen setiap data dalam cluster yang sama.
