Wanted to bump this issue, I am experiencing the same as well. Has anyone had any luck with this?

@alanshaw Here's an example, just look inside the folders for README.pdf. All our images are missing in the PDF's.
We use gulp-markdown-pdf which is just a thin wrapper around markdown-pdf. When we use gulp-markdown to generate HTML then the images work.
