Sorry I just saw this now. By mounting your own version of homarr in /app you are replacing the default files of the app, therefore it cannot reach the start script

So, what do I need to do? I want to save my file on persistent storage. preferably a volume storage. Do I have to move to mount a folder instead? Why the new image doesn't override And add the updated image?

Because that's how docker works, you should follow the installation guide on the docs as it explains how to save your configs to a mount point

So just to make sure can’t use volume storage on this app? What I think of doing is to save the config and create a new volume with the new version but I don’t want the same problem in the next update…

Yes you can just replace the mount point with a volume, just don't mount the /app folder
