It seems they have left the utility function in the iOS version for the moment. They have deprecated it on Android, and told us that it should be considered deprecated, so not sure if they are planning to remove the iOS version completely as well.
However we currently have implemented a work around on Android so it should still work as expected.
They are going to be replaced with BUO (Branch Universal Objects) or similar I believe.

Good to know. Will you update the ANE when, eventually, the switch to BUO?

I'm just catching up your emails with the Branch dev. So far getShortUrl creates a unique link on iOS as I need it. Will test further how it works on Android.
As I understand they're moved to v2 of their API without deprecating v1 still. I think I'll be able to budget so more hours for you this month to update the ANE to use BUO.

Apologies, I didn't realise who you were! Yeah the function was completely removed from the Android SDK but left in the iOS SDK. There's no clear reason as to why they approached it that but seems like they intend to deprecate it across both SDKs eventually.
