One specific example: quote characters.

Surely since the single quote will appear in English copy a lot more than the double quote, there has to be a compelling reason to use 'string' over "string"?

@bradleywright It's just a style choice. The reason I prefer single quotes, is I don't have to hit shift and visually the double quote looks like more noise. That's why it's the 'mostly reasonable approach' because I can't really argue why it's better because it's just a preference. At the end of the day, the important part is consistency.
