To handle fallow experiment, there are several criteria for distinguish it from regular experiment.

  1. If there is no planting event, then this experiment will be considered as fallow experiment.
  2. If there is planting event, but missing CRID, or PDATE, or any other necessary variable, it will just be considered as the experiment with missing data.
  3. Otherwise, it will be handling as regular experiment.

For DSSAT translator,

  1. the input translator should add the ENDAT in the data set for fallow experiment with the value copy from HADAT. This is more meaningful for other models rather than a harvest event.
  2. the output translator will try to recover the harvest event from ENDAT when harvest event is not available.
