Sounds reasonable. Since the introduction of auctions the PreClaim - Claim flow plays a less significant role I'd say. Bids can be front-run as it is, and since there is anyway the auction (at least for shorter names), being front-run is at the same time less of an issue.

Usually, we send pre-claim tx, and right after it gets a block number (added to a microblock) we send a name claim. So, the name gets exposed almost immediately.

it is a front-running protection which is kind of absurd right now if we look at the implementation of SH wallet. one reason to allow immediate NameClaim is mainly a UX thing IMO. but I already provided my thoughts on that in the SH wallet. the SH wallet is behaving VERY counterintuitive right now, providing absolutely no feedback to the user what's going on and even blocking the wallet from broadcasting new valid transactions until the name claiming process is done.

independent of that: if we want to change the behavior on protocol level, it would be good to include this in Ceres 😅

if I'm creating an nft I may want to be sure that nobody else can create the same before me.

this is a bad example IMO. the problem here is more about a fair distribution when claiming a name. a creator will always be the original creator. or it is a copied NFT which nobody is interested in or even violating copyright rules (depending on the type of NFT)

I mean a use case when something in a contract can be registered only once. A different example: we may have a company allowing to claim/manage DNS records (in some third-party namespace) on chain using a smart contract. Claiming these names should be the same secure as claiming AENS names.

I have no issue with removing the PreClaimTx, it simplifies logic on client side and improves overall UX
