Thanks Mark, that's correct. Stay tuned!

@aduros @markknol any news on this guys? :)
from flambe.
Wow, I've been living a lie all this time. (j/k)
I guess that means we have to wake up @aduros
from flambe.
Yep, used in in several client projects. But it is not opensource.

Well, I cannot speak for @aduros but I use Flambe on daily basis for a big games project/client and still feel it is working very well. We have build our own toolset around the framework and have quite some own modifications. Of course you can wait for updates, but you can also contribute/modify yourself 😉 I found the systems are relative easy to dive into, and Flambe is still a relevant and good framework for mobile webgames.

@markknol Yep, I made some changes on the framework as well, but these days, seems like the main respository isn't changing that much. Even the version on the HEAD isn't compatible with the last version of Haxe.
I'm still using Flambe for some clients as well, but given the poor maintenance, I was wondering about migrating to another framework or maybe a fork. Probably make a fork myself, but that will take some time I don't have right now 😛

I spoke to @aduros and he is actively working on a major update he is working on for more than a year. He told me he is expecting to release this ~next month since he is in a polish/testing phase. So stay tuned!

Oh wow, that's very nice to hear!
from flambe.
Glad to hear that!

Sounds great! I found Flambe at a point when I thought it was abandoned so I never fully got into it. I think I may be taking the proper plunge after this next update if it does what I need.
Is there a list of features and/or fixes that are being addressed in this latest update somewhere?
from flambe.
For those not on the mailing list, we've started to roll out some big updates, starting with FlaExporter: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/flambe/qTrVvqGTBxk/u8tJ7y4kAAAJ

Any news on Flambe updates? We're reached the point where we've had to move away from it because of the lack of updates.
from flambe.
Hey there, I'm wondering the same thing! A project I began in Flambe in 2015 was put to sleep for a while and now it's going to start up again very soon. I haven't seen any updates beyond a promotion for some new 2d framework by Nate, so I'm wondering what I should do.
from flambe.
We have our own evolved version of Flambe which has grown over last few years, it isn't complaint with the original project anymore. For me the workflow feels good, we can build game prototypes fast and turn them into polished nicely animated projects. We stopped waiting for updates and build new features ourselves. My next wish would be a renderer like pixijs, which is insane fast, but not sure how doable that is. I think its sad there hasn't been any updates here since last year, and this message is not to tease you but just want to mention that Haxe is awesome and Flambe is still a solid great and proven base for html5 gamedev, for us at least.

Where can we download this??
from flambe.
It is not open source and Im not sure if I can/ allowed to release it in public.
from flambe.
Gah, I thought you were promoting it as an alternative to Flambé. I guess I misunderstood. So it's Bruno that needs to give us an official update, then? I've been following that FlaExporter thread but that doesn't quite answer the question about what's next for Flambé itself.
from flambe.
@markknol I'd kind of argue at this point that Flambe is only worth it if you specifically need it for something due to project requirements, or you're willing to invest time/money in improving it like you have.
There are other HTML5 engines that are better maintained and have larger communities that can help you through technical hurdles. It's kind of heartbreaking to see an engine with potential like Flambe get so neglected, but I would be extremely hesitant to recommend it to anyone these days.
from flambe.
I thought @markknol was the guy in charge of Flambe (along with Bruno and Nate), so when I saw his post yesterday, I assumed he was taking about a Flambé update, but it seems like he's gone rogue. Though why it wouldn't be open source all of a sudden is a bit baffling if he's the creator and Flambé is open source.

Sorry I gave some wrong impressions. I was always just a flambe user, not maintainer. I wrote the wiki and I was an active forum user, so I get this confusion. Also should have my mouth shut about our version.

Hi all, I just got back from vacation here, I'll follow up this week with some news and updates.

from flambe.
Any updates?
from flambe.
@markknol have you had any success with pixijs-like renderer in your framework?
from flambe.
@markknol mind if I send you an email with a few questions on this? Not your framework specifically, but on general Haxe / gles bindings stuff
from flambe.
Sure!
