This is going to be tricky.
So this is what should happen in there (in shell):
[~]$ gcc -print-prog-name=cc1
/usr/libexec/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.8.3/cc1
[~]$ /usr/libexec/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.8.3/cc1 -v
ignoring nonexistent directory "/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.8.3/include-fixed"
ignoring nonexistent directory "/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.8.3/../../../../x86_64-redhat-linux/include"
#include "..." search starts here:
#include <...> search starts here:
/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.8.3/include
/usr/local/include
/usr/include
End of search list.

However on Mac, the first command just returns cc1
- that menaing it has no such thing.
So we need to realize what thing we need to run on Mac to get list of dirs where the gcc command (possibly clang dressed like gcc) searches for header files.

Where does homebrew install stl.h from admesh? Is the location still the same? Could I just do something like this:
if platform == darwin:
return '/usr/local/include/admesh/stl.h'
from python-admesh.
Actually, what output does echo | gcc -v -E -
produce on Mac? That might do it.

Result is this. I don't have any idea if it is useful or not :)

@Aldrago Please test current master. If it is indeed fixed, I'll do a release on PyPI.
