The gml:id is defined to be of type xsd:ID, and xsd:ID is derived from xsd:NCName. From the definition of xsd:NCName:
An xsd:NCName value must start with either a letter or underscore (_) and may contain only letters, digits, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).

I understand that this might be a rookie question, but if i wanted to change the value of gml_id for more than one line, then what function should i choose? I'm working on FME and i want to solve the problem from there. It would be very helpful, if you could redirect me somewhere where i can learn on how to use functions
