Yeah, we observed the same issue. Are you using the latest version of zerorpc-node? We have a similar fix built-in (see _keepaliveTimer in https://github.com/dotcloud/zerorpc-node/blob/master/lib/socket.js)
Now that it's fixed upstream, we should definitely upgrade the zmq bindings we use.

I'm running [email protected] - installed from npm yesterday. I just checked my source and your _keepaliveTimer fix hasn't yet made it into that latest release. I believe zmq is in a similar state - they've got the fix in github but not in a release yet.

OK, thanks for checking, and apologies for any inconvenience this might've caused - I know this bug was pretty gripe-worthy when I found it. We'll push the latest version ASAP.

Hey, I just published the 0.9.1 version on npm which includes the temporary fix. We'll keep an eye on zmq to update the dependency when they publish their fix.

New version on npm (0.9.2) uses zmq 2.2.0 which fixes the problem. Closing.
